Karate for children from 5 to 18 years
Young Tigers is a karate club for children. Our classes are separated into senior and junior
groups depending upon age and experience. On each training day the younger
children train in the hour before the older ones.
Training Sessions
We have three training days per week and each training session lasts for one
hour.
Many start by attending one session a week but often do up to four sessions
and become better for it.

Friendly atmosphere
The club has a welcoming and friendly club atmosphere. Through a common
interest in karate, students quickly make new friends and often meet earlier
before the class starts.
Parents and Spectators
Parents and spectators are welcome to watch our classes. |

Support from parents
We greatly appreciate the support given to us from parents especially during
our Christmas parties where we often have one hundred or more mouths to
feed.
Shotokan Karate
There are several styles of karate and we train in a style called Shotokan as taught by Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa
Instruction
The club currently has three resident black belt instructors and several
other visiting instructors who help to teach our classes and courses. Our
students are examined and occasionally taught by our chief instructor (Sensei
Paul Perry 8th Dan)
Small Classes
Classes are taught in small groups of students with similar level and
ability. Sometimes students will be given individual tuition when necessary.
Visiting Instructors
In the past our students have been taught by visiting instructors from Japan
and USA for several months at a time.
High ranking dan grade instructors from our own association (known as
Jinseikai) also help our senior students to prepare for black belt.
Japan
Over the years many instructors have volunteered to teach the Young Tigers
and almost all of them have made several extended visits to Japan for karate
training and site seeing. More recently some of our students have also made the
trek to experience Japanese culture and see what karate training is like in
Japan.
