Karate Training

Karate Sessions

Amongst other things, most karate sessions include some warm up exercises and training drills.

Stretching

Each class begins with a period of gentle stretching exercises to help the body to loosen up and prepare for sudden fast movements that might otherwise cause injury.

Training Drills

Karate practice is divided into three parts: kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring). There are training drills for each of these which are sometimes practiced alone or with a partner. Training alone can help us to concentrate on the way we perform a particular movement. Practicing with a partner can teach us when and where a technique is performed.
