championships 2003 was held at Lee Valley High
School (see the calendar for
next competition) Date: Sunday 16th November Time: 10.30am to 6.30pm
Young Tigers Junior Medal Winners 
Here are some of the Young Tigers members who won medals
at the JSK 2003 Championships (more to follow).
Events Individual Events There were individual events for grading kumite, cadet kumite,
kata, bo ( Foam covered stick or falstaff). Grading Kumite A new grading
kumite event was included this year. The judges awarded
marks for based on the quality and spirit of the attack as
well
as the execution of the defence. Cadet Kumite The cadet
kumite is for those aged 16 to 18 years. The Young
Tigers karate club had a strong entry and won
prizes for 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th place. The competitors
in this category have improved each year in both
speed and
quality. Club Competitions We now organize our own competitions which gives students
an excellent opportunity to experience competition locally. Young Tigers
