The Film 'Karate Kid' Remake

Jackie Chan is to play the mentor Mr Han  (Mr Miyagi originally played by Pat Morita in The Karate Kid 1984). Actor Will Smith will be producing the film and his son Jayden Smith (born 1998 )who already has  impressive acting abilities ) will be starring as Dre, a young American kid who moves with his mother to Beijing, China. Dre is a skateboarding video game player who finds it difficult to fit in when he can't speak Chinese and is confronted by a local bully.

Jayden has been training under Jackie Chan's stunt stunt co-ordinator Wu Gang. Jackie is said to have been impressed by Jayden's progress. and work ethic.

The film is called Kung Fu Kid and the UK release will be on 16 July 2010.
